FOREWORD FROM CEOs JYSK expansion continued in challenging year T he financial year 2022/23 was a year with many ups and downs for JYSK. External global factors such as high inflation, increased costs and low consumer trust continued to be unpredictable and made long-term planning difficult. Despite this, everyone at JYSK - from our stores and distribution centres to our offices - has shown exceptional dedication and contributed to our continued growth, high customer satisfaction and record turnover. Looking at the numbers for FY23, the turnover for JYSK increased by 6.3% to DKK 38.5 billion and EBIT reached DKK 3.9 billion. The decrease in EBIT was mainly due to higher costs driven by the record high inflation, price increase absorptions by JYSK and investments in expansion and store activities. Expansion is in our DNA In FY23, we did not slow down our expansion plans. In May, we opened the first two stores in Türkiye and more will be opened in FY24. All in all, we opened 135 stores across our JYSK countries, which is the same number as the year before, and our great offers and competitive prices attracted an additional 1.2 million customers to our stores and webshops. On top of this, we also invested in a record number of 619 store activities, which included relocations and enlargements of existing stores and updates to the newest store concept 3.0. We reached an important milestone with over two thirds of our stores upgraded to the successful 3.0 concept. We are also continously investigating opportu- nities to open stores in new countries as part of our expansion strategy. Support for Ukraine We are committed to helping Ukraine rebuild the country and during FY23 our employees in Ukraine exceeded expectations and reached 88 open and functioning stores – three more than before the war broke out. Our goal is to reach 100 stores by the end of FY24. Looking ahead FY24 also welcomes a new Executive Management Team at JYSK with Rami Jensen as new President and CEO, while Jan Bøgh has moved up as President and CEO of Lars Larsen Group Retail after 28 years at JYSK. The JYSK strategy remains the same: “Seamless and closer to the customer” with our values of Tradesman- ship, Colleague and Corporate Spirit as strong as ever.
